You can make a difference!

Fri, Mar 20, 2011 11:00 PM

Your age does not matter. You can always make a difference.

You do not know that you have been making a difference with your pranks as an infant or a young boy or girl, and later, with your beauty and charm, sincerity and hard work. In old age, people think they cannot do a thing.

They think that they cannot work for long hours, cannot attend an office or cannot in any way be actively associated with society and its activities. But that is not the reality.

You can still do wonders. Sure, in old age, we cannot do much of physical work.

But our mind is still active, and our senses are fine. Sit down quietly and think of all the persons who are dear to you and to whom you would like to do a good turn.

Think with sincerity and intensity. With your good thoughts, you are all the time creating an atmosphere of good will and well-being.

All through life and history, people have thought good thoughts and felt passionately about them before defining a plan of action and realizing them on the ground. So, thinking comes first, and you too can do it.

The ideas in your mind, even if they are not implemented, do make a difference. You cannot stop an idea whose time has come.

It has a force and life of its own. It has the capacity to transform material reality outside you.

You think and the world will be better. Saints have shown how good thinking and feeling can heal and transform lives.

There is something like mental transmission of ideas. Meditation helps you transmit ideas to a person at any place or time.

Your thinking, your goodwill, your intense feeling for the good of others is the biggest force you carry. The older you are, the greater is the force at your command.

Therefore, do not despair, and go on with your good ideas and word of cheer. You would be contributing your lot in building a saner world.

About Me!

Definition not available!

I could be partying and shouting on top of my voice amidst a bunch of people or I could just be lost in my family dwelling into the finer happiness from the moments spent with them or I could be gone alone finding myself indulging in my own thoughts!

I could be wanting to travel all around the world for days together or I could be willing to spend all my day and night within four walls!

I could be running through the pages of random books picked from anywhere never want to keep it away before reading the end part or I could be writing down all my thoughts into random pages or files, throwing them everywhere and anywhere without any closure or I could be searching random words or sentences on google to go on and on never ending up with anything or finding more than what I wanted!

I could be actively running around on my toes doing everything and anything non-stop or I could be just holding the couch and browsing through the TV channels without watching anything or I could be sticking to the bed in deep sleep not wanting to wake up any soon!

I could be dressing up all I want to look nice or I could throw away the accessories and choose something that I am comfortable with!

I could be talking all I want with strangers even or I could just remain to myself even amidst familiar faces!

I could be passionate about something and take all the efforts to do it perfect to my satisfaction or I could just be ignoring everything that interests me around!

To say it simple - I can be happy where I am and for what I am at the moment, without being choosy about what I wear, what I eat, where I am or whom I am with! Being happy is my choice over anything else and I would never want to rub anybody the wrong way thus making myself not a fun to be around! I trust my instincts and go my way, be it illogical or silly! And I simply uncomplicated and very predictable knowing how to have fun!

Lube out your Stress!!!

Dawn to Dusk - Are you laughing or are you stressed? If stress has been your all-time favorite then it's time for you to take an advice "When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot, hang on and swing!" Now let go the stress, come on, get creative and stay Healthy and Operative.
Laughter, the best medicine! Anything can be said on Laughter by definition but the core thing that can't be denied is, "Laughter is good for any business".
When you get in for work, smile at your teammate and say 'Hi, Good Morning', you feel the familiarity. When the smile spreads to the eyes as a grin you feel the comfort. When that smile bursts out into laughter on cutting a joke, then you feel the difference… The rest of the day may have more fun and joy in store for you.
"Instead of working for the survival of the fittest, we should be working for the survival of the wittiest, then we can all die laughing."
What is this thing called Humor? Do you think that a sense of humor is just a bunch of jokes? No I don't think so. Its deeper than laughter, more satisfying than comedy and delivers more rewards than merely being entertaining, I believe. A sense of humor sees the fun in everyday experiences. Do you believe it that way?
But how to own a Sense of Humor? Senses of humor come in different sizes, shapes and textures that work for some and not for others. Some play a straight role, feeding lines to others, appearing funny. Some use phrases to bring smiles to other's faces. And some just play with their natural sense of humor. Check this sample, "Does Karaoke require a big talent, apart from some basic singing capability?" "Nopes. Karaoke requires the following: 1. A good Karaoke system 2. Good voice 3. If one or both the above are bad...then some Cotton for the audience..."
However it is, just lighten up on your own when things get tough, that's a sign of good health. Make others get lightened at their hard time. Isn't it something winning a wealth for you?
You Aren't Your Job. When it comes to work, you are not your job, take yourself lightly and the job seriously. Your perspective is the only thing you have any control of. When you can accumulate things that stress you, will it not be easier to accumulate fun things in the same place?
Draw the line before you go home from work, which breaks you from taking the stress. Do something that says you are not at work. Now go out and play, hug and kiss your family without bringing your aggravations home for dinner! You might even have fewer aggravations waiting for you the next day! But you'll be ready to face it the coming day.
Hey, this one works! Laughter reduces tension and stress. It releases endorphins, relaxes muscles, improves thinking and facilitates forward action. Exercising your sense of humor helps get the job done. Remember somebody saying, "Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down?" Research has demonstrated that where people have fun, productivity and performance increase. Groups that have fun are more comfortable with each other and are better able to solve problems when they arise.
"Fun is not a reward, it's the lubricant that gets things done easily and effectively".
Being funny? Not my style! Even if you don't find yourself funny, you can make out in other ways. Find cartoons that make you smile and share them. Write down jokes, feel them and tell them to make others feel them. Look for the humor in tough situations. This isn't ridiculing others or making fun of them. It's just looking for something in it that lightens the load.
And most of all just try to engrave your mind with those funniest incidents. There should be no place for grievances or sorrows. No more will you spend hours together hearing those songs that bring out your sadness. Just try opening your ears to lively and fun-filled music; then you will feel the difference.
And here you are ready! For the next week or so, keep track of how often you're moved to laughter in your life - work, home, just out and about. Pay attention to how you feel afterwards. Note the times you may "laugh so hard you cry", how many times your sides might hurt because you laughed so hard. How many times you've made someone else laugh, created "a smile that burst" in them.
Look at your closest relationships and measure their health by the laughter present. Wherever you find less than you want, take responsibility and interject a sense of humor, fun and laughter.
The world truly does love to laugh! Add your two cents and enjoy!
